Game Fish Tournament ("we", "the Tournament" or "the Organization"), based in San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Nicaragua, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data you share with us when registering for the tournament, browsing our website, or interacting with the event.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. By registering or using this site, you accept the practices described below.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the tournament and meet its administrative, sporting, and legal obligations. This includes:

• Vessel data: boat name, size, hull type, motor.
• Owner and captain data: full name, WhatsApp / phone number, email address.
• Registered angler data: name, shirt size, amateur or professional status, signed waiver.
• Browser technical data: IP address, browser type, date and time of visit — used only for security and aggregate analytics.

3. How we use your information

Your personal information is used exclusively to:

• Process your registration and issue the official tournament kit.
• Communicate event instructions, schedule changes, and results.
• Verify your identity during dockside check-in.
• Comply with INPESCA, port authority, and insurance company requirements.
• Generate the public leaderboard — which only displays the boat name, captain, and angler associated with each accepted catch.

4. Public data vs. private data

Some data is inherently public due to the competitive nature of the tournament; other data never is.

Public data

• Vessel name, captain, captured species, weight/points, catch status.
• Final results of each edition and podium positions.

Private data (never published)

• WhatsApp numbers and email addresses.
• Calcutta financial information — only accessible to the Tournament Director.
• ID documents or signed waivers.

5. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

• Official sponsors — only aggregate data and tournament statistics, never identifiable information.
• Competent authorities — INPESCA, port captaincy, and insurers, when required by law.
• Infrastructure providers — Cloudflare (hosting and CDN), always under data processing agreements compatible with international standards.

6. Storage and security

All data is stored encrypted on Cloudflare infrastructure (D1 + R2), with access restricted by JWT authentication to the tournament team. Sensitive information — passwords, tokens — is stored using bcrypt hashing and never in plain text.

7. Your rights

At any time you can exercise the following rights over your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Rectification: correct any inaccurate data.
• Deletion: request deletion of your data when no longer needed for the tournament.
• Objection: object to the processing of your data for non-essential purposes.

8. Cookies

This site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for operation (admin session authentication, language preference, registration state). We do not use advertising tracking cookies or third-party cookies for marketing purposes.

9. Minors

The tournament is intended for those over 18 years of age. If a minor wishes to participate, they must have written authorization from their legal guardian and be accompanied by an adult registered on the same vessel.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable legislation. The current version will always be published on this page, with the last revision date visible at the start of the document.
